02 The three tiers

| Explorer | First orientation; data and processes are not yet ready for AI use; an assessment is the sensible next step |
| Adopter | First pilots have run or are being planned; data situation and capacity are enough for a targeted rollout of individual use cases |
| Operator | AI applications are already in production; the focus is on scaling, operations and governance across multiple use cases |
03 What the classification means
The classification shows where it makes sense to start. A company at the Explorer tier usually benefits most from a structured assessment, while an Operator is more interested in questions of scaling and ongoing operations. The tier is not a value judgment - it's orientation for the next step.
04 Limits of the test
The test relies on your own assessment of the five questions, not a technical review of your systems or data. Two companies with a similar self-assessment can score differently in an actual assessment. The test does not replace that review - it helps make the conversation about it more targeted.
